When we talk about maps, we usually think about paper. Instead, you can imagine, however, a map entirely crochet. Still, there are those who had this brilliant idea: a group of 18 Irish women who have united forces to pay homage to their country, Ireland.
It took four years of work to complete it: the project began in 2019, at the suggestion of a member of the same community, suffered a break during the pandemic and then resumed at the end of 2022

The huge map includes important sites from the island such as Glendalough, Croagh Patrick, Phoenix Park and the Giant’s Causeway. Among the recreated details there are also Theresa cottage in Donagal, the Ulster Museum, windmills, fishermen, inhabitants and other iconic elements of the area.
Now that she has returned to be talked about, attracting international attention, the ladies hope that their work can find a new home: they want to see it exposed in a public place, it does not matter where, as long as it is accessible and visible to everyone.
