What is Sisu?
Saying Sisu means saying Finland, as they are part of the Finnish spirit. How was Sisu born?
The term Sisu means “inner” in Finnish. In 1745, a bishop of the country used the name yescunda to describe the region of our body where the strongest feelings originate. The word gained widespread currency during and after the 1939/40 Winter War against the Soviet Union.
The Finnish people used this concept to animate the fighters, recalling their immense tenacity, their honor. This is how Sisu began to become synonymous with resilience and perseverance.

How to apply Sisu to my daily life?
You don’t have to be Finnish to learn the concept of Sisu, although Finns believe that each of them comes into the world with a good dose of Sisu. Anyone can rediscover their Sisu and apply it to their life.
