Finally the curtain rises on the first evening of Sanremo 2026, the great event that transforms the city of flowers into a stage of music, emotions and entertainment every year. This evening, Tuesday 24 February from 8.40pm live on Rai 1 and streaming on RaiPlay, millions of viewers will witness the debut of the 30 competing singers, ready to present their new songs in front of the jury and the Ariston audience.
Who will be the hosts and super guests of the first evening
Leading the evening will be the artistic director Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini (who we will see again as co-host every evening, supported by co-host Can Yaman, fresh from the success of the series Sandokan. And just to make a comparison, after 50 years, between the two Sandokans, the first Sandokan will be on stage: Kabir Bedi. A surprise guest, therefore, announced by Conti during the press conference.
The super musical guest will be Tiziano Ferro, ready to celebrate 25 years of his success Xdono with an intense performance. But we won’t hear music only coming from the Ariston: Max Pezzali will perform on the Costa Toscana ship (also present every evening, each time with a different theme) while Gaia will bring all its energy to the Suzuki Stage in Piazza Colombo hosted by Daniele Battaglia, inaugurating the week of great live events in the city.

The voting system and the first provisional ranking
For this first evening, the jury from the Press, TV and Web Room will vote on the performances, determining the provisional ranking. Only the top five positions will be announced, without a placing order, thus maintaining a high level of suspense and curiosity among the public and Festival enthusiasts.
