Who is Levante: real name, who is her partner, and what is her daughter’s name?

Born Claudia Lagona, born in Caltagirone in 1987, Levante is one of the most original and multifaceted singer-songwriters on the Italian scene. Writer, painter and performer with an unmistakable voice, over the years she has built a solid and coherent artistic path, capable of ranging from music to literature to the visual arts. She returns to the Ariston stage for the third time: she had already been there in 2020 with “Tikibombom” (twelfth place) and in 2023 with “Vivo” (twenty-third).

Who is comrade Pietro Palumbo?

In her private life, Levante has been linked since 2019 to Pietro Palumbo, a lawyer from Palermo who graduated in Law from the University of Palermo with top marks, with a master’s degree from the Cattolica of Milan and from King’s College in London. The two met by chance during a dinner, and Levante has repeatedly defined him as “a Sicilian god, of uncommon beauty”.

On February 13, 2022, the couple’s first daughter, Alma Futura, was born, a deliberately poetic name. Alma from Latin means “she who nourishes”, – and in Spanish it means “soul” – while Futura is a wish for the little one, who is always projected towards the future, as opposed to the nostalgic and melancholic character of her mother, as declared by Levante herself in the “PoretCast” vodcast hosted by Giacomino Poretti:

“Sei tu”: the song taken to Sanremo 2026

For the 76th edition of the Festival, Levante brings “Sei tu”, a song written entirely by her. Here is the full text:

Ah, I can’t feel my legs.
Ah, where are the arms?
And I can’t breathe,
Yet I’m alive,
I feel myself smiling
And I didn’t decide that.
My sight leaves me a little.
I’m looking for my posture,
I become fear,
My throat is shaking too,
The voice can’t find me,
My hands are deceiving me now.
This is how we fall in love…
Make room where there is no room.
Ah, if I could see you with my own eyes
You would tear away all my amazement.
Ah, if I could dress my skin
Vibrate with my sound,
You would know why I never found the way
To explain what love is
For me.
If love is you.
But I’ve already lost control,
My body no longer follows me.
And my head is spinning, it’s spinning
He turns to fix the thought up to where I am worthy:
The fear of nothing.
To show itself even in miseries,
Then stay and count the rubble.
Ah, if I could see you with my own eyes
You would tear away all my amazement
Ah, if I could dress my skin
Vibrate with my sound
You would know why I never found the way
To explain what love is
…If love is you.
If love is you.
