Bauli Easter egg with Grendizer: the surprise that rekindles Generation X who grew up with Japanese robots

Grendizer-mania doesn’t stop. After the triumph of the series, available on RaiPlay and broadcast on Rai 2, and after the sold-out of the Tissot PRX Grendizer 50th Anniversary watch (1,975 pieces sold out almost immediately on the online store at 1,095 euros), the Go Nagai robot is preparing to conquer the shelves of large-scale retail trade too at Easter. Bauli has in fact announced a 220g milk chocolate egg entirely dedicated to Atlas Ufo Robot.

The surprises: two collectible chibi figurines

The news began to circulate on social media thanks to the photos published by Giorgia Vecchini (famous Italian cosplayer, as well as voice actress and TV presenter) which went viral in the Facebook group Grendizer & Superobot. The egg contains one of two PVC figurines approximately 9 centimeters high: Grendizer with the space halberd or without, both with base for display. These are “safe” surprises – one of the two characters is inside, not both – and the choice is fixed, not random. The most avid fans have already pointed out the absence of a figurine with the Spazer flying saucer, the spaceship symbol of the robot, but this is an understandable gap given the complexity of production for a large-scale distribution format.

The egg, currently without a dedicated product sheet on the official Bauli website, should arrive in supermarkets by the end of February or beginning of March 2026 (even if in reality it is already found in some supermarkets, as demonstrated by the photos of the aforementioned Facebook group), at a price in line with that of other similar products of the same weight.

The Grendizer Generation is adults — and goes shopping

The launch of this egg is not an isolated case, but the last piece of a decidedly varied commercial strategy. From 24 December 2025, RaiPlay will host the complete box set with all 71 episodes of the restored classic series plus 3 previously unreleased episodes never broadcast before. From 29 December the series also returned to Rai 2 in the morning slot at 6.50, with two episodes a day from Monday to Friday, in the restored version with enhanced colors and renewed audio – historic theme song by Vince Tempera included. The series will soon also arrive on Rai Gulp.

Since then, merchandising has responded forcefully. As mentioned, Tissot launched the PRX Grendizer 50th Anniversary Special Edition — 1,975 numbered examples, with UFO Spazer-shaped packaging and original drawings hand-signed by Go Nagai — already sold out on the online store at 1,095 euros. Even McDonald’s Italia created a tribute commercial to the robot, entitled “The Legends are back”, with the music of Vince Tempera’s legendary theme song: a commercial created without formal authorization but recognized as an official tribute by Dynamic Planning, the Japanese company that holds the rights to Go Nagai’s works.
