From today, Monday 9 March 2026, the Teacher’s Charter for the 2025-2026 school year is operational. The benefit, equal to 383 euros, is intended to support the professional growth of Italian teachers and marks a further evolution compared to previous editions, both for the audience of recipients and for the purchase categories allowed.
Who can apply for the Card
The most significant innovation this year concerns the expansion of the number of beneficiaries. In addition to permanent teachers, the Charter is now also accessible to teachers with annual substitution on a vacant or available position until 31 August, to those with assignment until the end of teaching activities on 30 June, as well as to educational staff in service at boarding schools and boarding schools.
The result is an overall audience that exceeds one million teachers: over 200,000 more beneficiaries than last year, and 253,000 more than in the original configuration of the measure. An expansion that responds to sentences issued starting from 2021, which had highlighted the need to include precarious workers in the school sector.
What can you buy
The eligible expenses have been expanded compared to previous editions. The traditional categories remain confirmed:
To these are added, for the first time, two new items: passenger transport services and the purchase of musical instruments. A sign of attention to the practical and artistic needs of teachers.
Additional funds for training and school supplies
In parallel with the Individual Charter, the Ministry of Education has allocated a further 281 million euros – 11 million more than the 270 initially announced – intended for the continuous training of teachers and for the acquisition, by educational institutions, of digital devices such as tablets and personal computers, as well as books and teaching aids to be made available to teachers on loan for use.
How to activate the Card
The activation procedure is entirely digital. Teachers must connect to the official portal cartadeldocente.editore.it and authenticate via SPID credentials or Electronic Identity Card (CIE). Once logged in, it will be possible to generate digital shopping vouchers to be used at participating merchants.
