It debuts from tonight, March 9th, at 9.30pm on Rai 1 Warriors – The rule of balancea new four-evening series that brings one of the most intense characters in contemporary fiction to the small screen. Giving him a face and voice is Alessandro Gassmann, called to embody the criminal lawyer Guido Guerrieri, born from the pen of Gianrico Carofiglio.
Guerrieri is a brilliant professional, but one riddled with profound fragilities. He experiences the court as a moral arena, where every trial becomes a personal matter. Empathy is his best weapon, and at the same time his most vulnerable point. Ironic, passionate about boxing, marked by the end of his marriage to Sara, he constantly moves on a thin ridge between rationality and restlessness.

Court cases that dig into the soul
The series – based on the novels Reasonable doubts, The temporary perfections And The rule of balance – builds a story where the legal drama is intertwined with inner research. We start from the defense of a man convicted of international drug trafficking who proclaims his innocence: a case that reopens shadows of the past. Then the disappearance of a young woman, the murder of a biologist researcher and, above all, the accusation of corruption that overwhelms an esteemed judge and friend of Guerrieri. Each story calls into question certainties and beliefs, raising the most uncomfortable question: what is the truth really, when everything seems already written? Guerrieri defends others, but in doing so he is forced to defend himself from his own cracks.
The location: Bari, a mirror city of lights and shadows
In the background of the fiction there is Bari, portrayed in an often nocturnal dimension. Alleys of the historic center, courtrooms, windswept seafront: the city becomes a reflection of the protagonist’s soul, suspended between beauty and contradiction. The filming, directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli, also involved locations such as Monopoli and Trani, strengthening the Apulian identity of the series. The result is a dry realism, far from easy aestheticizations: the courtrooms are concrete, tense spaces, crossed by silences that weigh as much as words.

The cast of “Warriors”
Alongside Gassmann, an ensemble cast gives strength to the story. Ivana Lotito is Annapaola, a former crime reporter turned private investigator, determined and edgy. Michele Venitucci plays Inspector Tancredi, a loyal ally but always on the edge of tension. The group is completed by Anita Caprioli, Lea Gavino and Michele Ragno, together with a parterre of well-known faces who fuel conflicts and ambiguities. A heterogeneous team in which each character adds a piece to the mosaic of justice, ambition and feelings. Warriors – The rule of balance it is a journey into the contradictions of a man who seeks order in chaos. And who, while debunking the accusations of others, continues to question his own balance.
