The affected lot is 10/19/2026. The expiry date coincides, 19 October 2026, and the check is therefore reduced to a look at the label.
Because he was recalled
The reason indicated in the warning is the presence of STEC with EAE gene. Behind the acronym are the Escherichia coli producers of Shiga toxinstrains that can cause diarrhea, often bloody, and abdominal cramps. The EAE gene codes forintimidatethe protein with which the bacterium anchors itself to the intestinal wall, and the strains that possess it are those most often associated with serious forms of infection. In the worst cases, the infection progresses to hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a complication that affects the kidneys. The most exposed are children under five years of age, followed by the elderly and people with reduced immune defenses.
What to do in case of purchase
The manufacturer’s indication is clear: the cheese should not be consumed and should be returned to the point of sale where it was purchased. There is no point in smelling it or tasting a piece of it to understand if it is still good, because a contaminated cheese can have the same appearance and taste as a healthy one, and the only check that the consumer can really carry out is that of the batch.
