Naples triumphs in the 100 Best Food Cities 2025 ranking in Tasteatlas. Italy dominates with six cities in the top 10. We discover the complete list and the dishes that have conquered the world.
Italy is confirmed as the undisputed home of good food and dominates a new ranking drawn up by Tasteatlas, the famous portal dedicated to food.
Based on 477,287 user assessments, which tested 15,478 dishes between 17,073 cities in the database, the 100 best food cities 2025 ranking rewards the best 100 cities in the world in culinary terms.
The result leaves no room for doubt: the Belpaese who confirms the king of global gastronomy, with a podium all tricolor. Naples ranks first absolutely, followed by Milan and Bologna.
Naples, the capital of taste
There was really no history: Naples dominates the best food cities 2025, earning the perfect score of 5 out of 5. The reason? Simple: the Neapolitan city is the home of the pizza Margherita, the Zeppole, the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, the spaghetti with the clams and the puff pastry. A riot of flavors that has conquered palates from all over the world and that has allowed the city to earn the title of worldwide capital.
Milan and Bologna on the podium
In second place is Milan, with an excellent score of 4.96 out of 5. The Milanese city owes its silver medal to the most famous dishes in the Milanese city, such as Milanese risotto, cutlet, cassoeula and panettone. From the elegance of starred restaurants to taverns with timeless charm, the Lombard city offers a perfect mix between tradition and innovation.
To complete the podium there is Bologna, which with its 4.94 out of 5 confirms a point of reference for gourmets. Here the scent of tagliatelle with ragù and tortellini in broth welcomes visitors from the first step in the historic center. And how can we forget the lasagna, the Bolognese cutlet and the crescentina? A triumph of Italianness.
The other Italians in the top 10
Italy does not stop at the podium. In the Top 10 we find three more cities: Florence (4th place, 4.83 points) with the Fiorentina steak and Ribollita, Rome (6th place, 4.79 points) with the first of tradition (Carbonara, Cacio and Pepe, Gricia) and Tiramisu, and Turin (9th place, 4.76 points) with AgneLotti, Vitello Tuna and Gianduiotto.
The rest of the world resists
Among the foreign cities that manage to make their way we find Mumbai (5th place, 4.81 points), where street food reigns Sovereign, Paris (7th place, 4.78 points) with a great tradition made of bistros and author’s pastry shop, Vienna (8th place, 4.77 points) and Osaka (10th place, 4.74 points), symbol of the refined Japanese cuisine.
And the other Italian cities?
Italy continues to shine with other cities in the ranking. Among the first 50 we find Genoa (13th place), Ferrara (19th), Catania (21st), Venice (23rd), Palermo (31 °) and Bari (41 °). Between the 51st and 100th place there are also Modena (69 °), Sorrento (79 °), Taormina (80 °), Lucca (88 °), Mantua (89 °), Siena (92 °), Parma (97 °) and Trieste, which closes the ranking in 100th place.
