A series of romantic evenings with many shooting stars is about to begin: Northern Taurids between the 11th and the 12th, chi-Taurids always between the 11th and the 12th, kappa-Orionids between the 13th and the 14th. We don’t miss out and prepare many wishes, because every evening – weather permitting and with a bit of luck – we will be able to capture some meteors.
As the UAI explains, the swarm of Northern Tauridspeaking on November 11 and 12, generally presents with slow-moving meteors, but often very bright and sometimes with real racing cars (on the map the sky of November 12, 2025 at approximately 9.00 pm).
Although the ZHR (zenith hourly rate) does not generally exceed the value of 10, the spectacular nature of these events makes them one of the most loved by observers

To this, then, are added other smaller swarms belonging to the same family, such as chi-Tauridswhich contribute to making the early November sky particularly lively.
And it doesn’t end here, because a few days later, as the Moon moves towards its last quarter, some less well-known but scientifically relevant swarms become more interesting, such as kappa-Orionidspeaking between November 13th and 14th.
Don’t miss it!
