After Nutella and Pan di Stelle comes Gianduiotto? Pernigotti also launches into the world of ice cream

Pernigottione of the most historic and famous confectionery companies in Italy, returns after years to enter the world of ice cream with a novelty that promises to be talked about. The historic reality of Novi Ligure, known for its famous gianduiottoin fact returns to dealing with ice cream with the launch of a new brand: “Signor Stefano”.

This return marks a significant step for the company, which intends to reclaim a sector in which it has been one of the undisputed protagonists for decades. The decision to enter the ice cream market is a response to the trends of deseasonal consumption, where the mild winter and climate changes are the backdrop to a growing demand for products even outside the traditional summer season.

It is no coincidence that more and more large companies, such as Ferrero with Nutella Ice Cream and Barilla (in collaboration with Algida) with Pan di Stelle, are demonstrating that ice cream is a business that never sets and is no longer in season, it is in fact appreciated and requested by consumers all year round.

The name of brand, “Mr. Stefano”, it is not accidental: it is a tribute to the founder of the company and the last owner of the dynasty of chocolate entrepreneurs, Stefano Pernigotti, who left his mark on the Italian confectionery industry.

Attilio Capuano, CEO of Pernigotti, declared that this relaunch represents a tribute to the historical roots of the company, but also a sign of confidence in the potential of the ice cream market:

Our company was the first to produce high quality semi-finished products for professional ice cream makers in the 1930s and the link with this sector is still strong.

The official announcement of the new line dedicated to “Signor Stefano” ice cream will take place at Sigep World 2025, the international reference exhibition for the foodservice sector, which will be held from 18 to 22 January in Rimini. Here, Pernigotti will present its return to the ice cream scene, with a series of semi-finished products (powders and creams) for professional ice cream parlors.

It has already been revealed that the ice cream division, created specifically for this project, will offer around 60 referenceshigh quality semi-finished products, products that have made Pernigotti famous over the years.

Gianluca Cazzulo, commercial director of Pernigotti SpA. announced that:

Pernigotti aspires to return to being a reference company in chocolate, gianduia and hazelnut paste-based products. We are aware that we are entering a rather crowded market today: it is a very stimulating challenge that we face with enthusiasm, humility, but at the same time with a lot of determination, strengthened by the path undertaken so far which has seen, in just two years, the confectionery division return to play a leading role in the reference market.

Unlike Ferrero and Barilla who have chosen to enter directly into the consumer ice cream market, Pernigotti seems to focus exclusively on semi-finished products for professional ice cream makers, but it cannot be ruled out that there could be some surprises in the future.
