From 23 to 28 September 2025 Barcelona returns to live the festival of La Mercé, a week of concerts, shows, fires and popular traditions that transform the city into an open -air party. And there is an opportunity that stands out above all: the Família Sagrada gives 20,000 free tickets to enter the Basilica and discover the unfinished work of Gaudí without paying a euro.
How to get free tickets to the Familla Sagrada
The visits will be from 19 to 24 September (except 22 and 23). It is not enough to show up: tickets are extracted. We must register on the official website by 14 September at 9 pm, choosing day and time. The extraction is September 15 and confirmation comes via email. The rules are simple: only one attempt per person, module only in Catalan or Spanish, no towers, no guided tours and no purchase of normal tickets. Those who enter will still be able to turn between the naves, see the chapel of the hiring and the sculpture of the wedding of Cana three meters high. Each free admission also has a digital audio guide. A rare gift, considering that Família Sagrada is always crowded and tickets usually go away quickly.
The festival of La Mercé, however, is not only Basilica: the city is filled with events in every neighborhood. There will be the prayer, the inaugural speech from the balcony of the Municipality, the Correfoc with devils and dragons that spit on fire through the streets, the Castellers, the human towers that seem to challenge gravity, and the papier -mâché giants that parade between dances and drums. In the parks and Montjuïc, street artists and circus artists perform, while the music arrives everywhere with the Bam Festival and the free concerts of the Mercè.
The grand finale is the Piromusical of 28 September, a fireworks show and water games at the magic fountain, which this year returns on after two years of silence.
