Become a scientist: the free events you can book for the 20th European night of researchers and researchers

For a week it will be possible to meet and play the role of scientists and scientists.

The European night of researchers and researchers, an event conceived by the European Commission in 2005 and brought to Italy by Frascati Scienza since 2006, celebrates an important milestone: 20 years of activity, returns. Greenme also this year has decided to support this popularization project that aims to take care of the planet.

This initiative has transformed the researchers and researchers from academics in the chair to communicators capable of involving people of all ages, also through shows and experiments in the square, with Leaf, this is the name of the project whose goal is to combine science and civil society forces to protect the planet.

Science week

The scheduled activities, which will take place during the week of science from 20 to 27 September, with the highlight on Friday 26 September, offer numerous opportunities to discover how research contributes to a more green and conscious future.

In Rome, the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome (UCBM) will open its doors with interactive and fun activities that range in different crucial scientific areas for sustainability: from science of food to robotics, from artificial intelligence to advanced medical, civil and industrial applications. You can participate in practical experiences to explore how research and innovation can improve the quality of life and promote sustainability. Among the proposals, you can discover the use of innovative sensors, analyze food labels, touch robotic technologies for the well -being of people and understand artificial intelligence in daily life.

Interactive activities, exhibitions, workshops for young and old, and a rich program of scientific micro-adventures to bring the public closer to research together with the many researchers and researchers involved in the disclosure of the University of Roma Tre.

The Biology Department of the University of Tor Vergata will also organize guided tours of the Botanical Garden, an opportunity to admire the wealth of nature.

Even Explora The Museum of Children in Rome, will dedicate a special appointment to a very precious good: water. With “Water life, discovery and wonder”, boys and girls will be guided to discover how essential water is for all life forms and how present it is in our daily lives, underlining the importance of scientific research in this field.

The European Space Agency – ESA, for the Super Night of Science of September 26 (reservations from 15 September), will offer a rich program to discover how its projects concretely improve the life of millions of Europeans and contribute to reveal the mysteries of the earth and the universe.

Then there is no lack of insights on biodiversity. In Rende, in the province of Cosenza, it will be possible to go “to discover the Olivicola Calabra biodiversity” at the Crea Research Center. In Parma, the university will also propose a Escape Room on the topics of sustainable development, while in Piacenza you can discover the novelties of high efficiency photovoltaic panels.

Frascati headquarters of science

In addition to the theme events sustainability, the European night of researchers and researchers offers hundreds of initiatives dedicated to all ages: educational workshops, exhibitions, shows, guided tours, talk with international experts and scientific shows. For the most curious, in Frascati, Luca Perri will involve us with “Harry Potter’s science”, exploring as science and magic influence each other. There will be shows such as “Zeus’s lightning”, which will compare Greek mythology with science, or astrophysics and writer, Licia Troisi as “the astronomer in yellow”.

Science also becomes inclusive with the laboratory “Look who speaks” on the language of signs (LIS), showing how technological innovation supports new solutions for a more accessible communication. And for the little ones, the “bestial potions” of G.Eco will reveal the incredible powers of the animals.

The event unfolds in 22 Italian cities, including Ariccia, Carbonia, Florence, Frascati, Palermo, Parma, Piacenza, Potenza, Rende, Rome and many others.

Numerous events are also dedicated to schools of all levels and degrees, from 22 to 26 September.

Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this big feast of science! The entrance to the events is free, but it is necessary to have the reservation. Reservations are already open for many activities!

The European night of researchers and researchers is more than a simple event: it is an invitation to look to the future with curiosity, awareness and a profound respect for our world.
