With the excuse of the souvenir, thousands of tourists have been subtracting a precious asset that nature has used millennia to create: the famous pink sand. If on the one hand there are repentant tourists, such as Eleonora and Antonella, who have the courage to recognize their mistake and return it even after a long time, on the other there are those who not only take it illegally, but even come to Put it for sale on the web.
To report the episode was the Legal Intervention Group (GRI), an ecological association that collected several reports from indignant citizens. Immediately alerted, the forestry body and the environmental supervision of Sardinia have started the investigations.
According to GRI, the pink sand of Budelli – protected by a dense network of landscape, environmental and regulatory constraints, being part of the National Park of the Maddalena archipelago and the protected marine area – was put on sale on a well -known commercial platform.
A gesture not only illegal, but deeply unresolved towards one of the most fragile and iconic places in the Mediterranean, which deserves adequate sanctions, to protect a unique natural heritage in the world.
