Chiello at Sanremo 2026 with “I think about you always”: everything about the artist who blends trap, pop and rock, who duets with him (instead of Morgan)?

This year at Sanremo 2026, among the protagonists of the Italian music event, we find Chiello with the song I always think of you which, according to the singer, talks about a mind suspended between the beginning and the end of something. Who is Chiello: origins and first steps

Rocco Model, aka Chiello, was born in 1999 in Venosa, in the province of Potenza. He grew up immersed in music and began rapping at the age of twelve, influenced by artists such as Fabri Fibra, XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD, but also by the rock of Iggy Pop, Nirvana and the Italian songwriting tradition of Luigi Tenco and Piero Ciampi.

He attended the artistic high school in Melfi where he developed a strong creative sensitivity but abandoned his studies in the penultimate year to dedicate himself completely to music. At eighteen he left Venosa, spending a period in Genoa before settling in Milan, the city where his professional career was born.

“FSK Satellite”: the launching pad

In 2017 Chiello founded the FSK Satellite collective together with Sapobully and Taxi B, entering the Italian trap scene with immediate impact. The group releases several projects, including the mixtape Gypsy (2018) and the EP You won’t find a treasure (2019), which highlight his compositional talent and ability to address contemporary issues with irony, anger and authenticity.

FSK Satellite soon becomes an underground phenomenon, with albums such as FSK Trapshit And Father Son and Spiritwhich see prestigious collaborations with Sfera Ebbasta and American artists such as Chief Keef. However, the project froze in 2025, paving the way for Chiello’s solo career.

Solo career: “Oceano Paradiso” and “Mela Marcia”

The solo debut arrives in 2021 with the album Ocean Paradiseanticipated by the single How much I would like youwhich immediately became a phenomenon on TikTok and on the radio. The album shows a more melodic and introspective side of Chiello, with important collaborations such as Colapesce, Mace, Rkomi and Madame.

In 2023 he released his second album, Rotten Applein which he explores fragility, everyday emotions and intimate reflections without filters. The project confirms the ability to mix trap, pop and rock, always maintaining a personal and recognizable style. In 2025 Chiello releases his third album, Doodlesfollowed by singles My love, Pirates And Wolf.

Chiello’s style and themes

His musical approach combines introspection, punk-rock energy and contemporary sensitivity, making him a point of reference for Generation Z. Chiello has not participated in talent shows like Friends or X Factorbut his career has grown thanks to talent, artistic coherence and high-level collaborations.

Chiello’s lyrics address daily life, love, introspection and fragility, without ever giving up powerful and immediately recognizable sounds. His ability to alternate trap, pop and rock makes him a very particular artist on the Italian scene, capable of speaking to the hearts of young people and of conquering even those looking for emotional depth in the lyrics.

The evening of covers with Morgan

During the covers evening Chiello was supposed to duet with Morgan and interpret I fell in love with you by Luigi Tenco. A choice which he explained was based on the strong artistic esteem towards Marco Castoldi which however was not liked by most given the many controversies surrounding him such as the trial for stalking and defamation towards his former partner Angelica Schiatti, now engaged to Calcutta. Chiello, however, had continued on, maintaining his record as well Apartment songs is one of the legendary albums in Italian music and it would have been an honor for him to be on stage with Morgan.

A few days before the start of the Festival, however, here’s the twist: Morgan has announced that he will not go on stage for the duet with Chiello on the covers evening. The musician explained that his role will be technical behind the scenes, to respect the intimacy of Luigi Tenco’s piece. And who will be there with Chiello? Saverio Cigarini will be on the piano, while Morgan, according to him, will contribute to the performance without being visible on stage.
