Exceptional jury for the gold ginkgo
The main prize of the Festival, the 2025 gold ginkgo, It will be assigned by a jury made up of experts from the world of entertainment, culture and environmentalism: Alan Cappelli Goetz, actor and popularizer, Ambassador of the European Clima Pact; Barbara Chichiarelli, actress, protagonist in Suburra and M – the son of the century; Rossella Muroni, sociologist and environmentalist, former president of Legambiente and guidance of new re-generations; Ottavia Virzì costume designer, producer and activist, with a strong attention to the environmental impact in design.
To preside over the jury there will be the actor and director Alessandro Preziosi, actor, director and teacher, known for his films and fiction and for projects such as “The Law of the earthquake” which he has been able to dig in the wounds of our territory.
They are above all the documentaries who, to date, have offered a deeply realistic look at the state of the environment and the causes of the imminent disaster. But obviously it was not enough. It is essential that all art, and cinema in particular, continue to educate by asking crucial questions. This does not mean giving answers, also because the risk would be that of a rhetorical cinema – explains Preziosi – Italy must recover ground, actively supporting and financing artistic projects that deal with these urgent environmental issues.
The symbol at stake for the best film LN Green Film: not a cup, a trophy, a statuette, but a leaf -shaped prize. To remember that we owe a lot to the trees. In addition, Ginko is a kind of species capable of resisting drought and atmospheric pollution and a beautiful specimen of it is kept right inside the botanical garden.
A precious opportunity for the younger generations
This year, the Cinema In Green Festival is also enriched with the jury sprouts, made up of university students and high schools, which will have the opportunity to actively participate in the event.
The youth jury will have the task of viewing the films in competition and rewarding the film that most of all will stimulate the reflection on our relationship with the planet (if you want to apply to join the team of young security, visit the dedicated page).
Cinema in green is not the usual review: it is an invitation to think, to discover, to feel part of a global movement that is trying to reverse the course and look to the future with hope and determination. With the seventh art like lens, cinema in green offers us a space where films and stories can become actions.
The event is organized by Musei Sapienza, Botanical Orto Museum of Rome and Silverback, with the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Safety, Lazio Region, Metropolitan City of Roma Capitale, Roma Capitale, Enea – National Agency, Legambiente, Marevivo Onlus and WWF Italia.
