Circus Medini, the shock investigation that reveals the suffering of the animals forced to live among their own excrements

The shocking images, collected following the movements of the circus in Piedmont (between Canelli, Fossano and Cavour), once again tell a raw reality of atrocious exploits and mistreatment: animals locked in the trucks for over 36 hours, which they live and eat among their own dejectionswithout ever being able to go out. A silent and hidden hell that must be stopped.

To launch the alarm in a shock investigation is the Lav, which has already denounced the facts to the competent authorities, attaching to the evidence also a video that documents scenes of extreme cruelty.

Among the most chilling images, you can see a camel slip on the truck ramp, while other animals, including hippos, horses, geese and pones, are transported without any adequate protection, exposing themselves to physical wounds and permanent damage.

A system that violates regulations

The investigation highlights serious violations of animal welfare laws. Not only the transport, which does not comply with the provisions of the foreseen, but also the management of outdoor spaces, where animals are abandoned On asphalt, without shelter and a healthy environment.

Hippopotami and camels, not used to the cold of northern Italy – explains the head of the exotic area of Lav, Giulia Giambalvo – are exposed to life conditions incompatible with their natural habitat. Paolina, the hippopotamus, is marked by serious injuries on the skin due to the lack of a tub, necessary to preserve its semi -water skin.

What we have documented is an unsustainable reality: these animals are treated as objects to be exploited for profit, without any respect for their dignity and well -being. Every movement, every movement, is a new suffering. They eat and sleep among their feces, in a context that makes a struggle for survival every day – says Giambalvo.

The worst is that these conditions are not an exception, but the rule for animals in circuses, where coercive training and cage life are everyday life.

An urgent request

LAV now requests that the competent authorities are a thorough investigation into documented abuses, with the hope of a definitive sentence. But there is an even more urgent request: theimmediate abolition of the use of animals in circuses and the prohibition, by law, to exploit them in entertainment performances.

The time has come to turn the page and look to the future with an ethical and respectful entertainment of life. The Minister of Culture, Giulia, must sign the implementing legislative decree by 18 August 2025, as required by the delegation on the show, to stop this exploitation inhuman once and for all, concludes Giambalvo.

The change is possible. The freedom of animals can no longer be a choice, but a priority.
