Cloudflare down, outages on ChatGPT, Spotify and Canva around the world: what’s happening?

You are having trouble accessing Canva or ChatGPT? You are not the only ones. Today a global disruption has struck Cloudflare, one of the world’s leading digital infrastructure providers, causing numerous online sites and services to go down. Among the most well-known services involved are social platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Canva, ChatGPT, but also streaming portals, apps such as Spotify and online games including League of Legends.

The reports

The problem was reported around 12.15pm (Italian time), when many users began experiencing difficulties accessing websites. In a few hours, the outage spread globally, putting numerous digital services in difficulty.

Several people have also reported access difficulties on Downdetector, a platform (also supported by CloudFlare) that monitors problems and interruptions on sites and various online services in real time.

Cloudflare’s response

On its website, Cloudflare promptly confirmed that it was aware of the anomaly, communicating that it is working to identify the cause and resolve the problem as soon as possible and that updates will follow soon.

Despite the disruption, some users are managing to use the platforms regularly. The problem may therefore be limited to certain areas or configurations.
