This year too, the overall winner of the prestigious “Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards” photography competition was declared: the shot that won over the jury is “Stuck Squirrel” by the Italian Milko Marchetti, which portrays a red squirrel apparently stuck in the hole of a tree.
Marchetti, thanks to his squirrel, earned a safari organized by the Alex Walker’s Serian team, a handcrafted trophy created by the Wonder Workshop in Tanzania and a camera bag from Think TANK.
The other winners of the 2024 edition are no different: Kingston Tam won the “Nikon Young Photographer Category (Under 25)” with the photograph “Awkward smiley frog” which portrays a funny frog, while the “Nikon Junior Category (Under 16)” was awarded to Sarthak Ranganadhan with “Smooching owlets”, which portrays a couple of owls intent on kissing while their little son seems to wait for them embarrassedly.
“Mantis Flamenca” by José Miguel Gallego Molina won in the “Insects Award” category: the photo portrays a “dancing” mantis.
The “ThinkTANK Reptiles and Amphibians” Award went to Eberhard Ehmke for the photograph “Frog in a balloon”, which portrays a frog with its head in a bubble.
The Finnish Tapani Linnanmàki won the “Affinity Photo 2 People’s Choice Award” with the photo“Shake ruffle arruttle and roll”: A white-tailed eagle nibbles its feathers.
