Creative recycling of old baking trays: 3 DIY ideas (that you don’t expect)

What to do with one old baking tray now unusable? Before throwing it away, we suggest you try to reuse it creatively. From magnetic organizers to chalkboards, the DIY ideas we have selected are very simple and very original.

Magnetic organizer

It doesn’t take much to transform the old baking tray into a magnetic wall organizer: after sanding it, paint it with a water spray in your favorite color or use acrylics, which resist over time and have a good yield. Let dry and glue a decorative piece of fabric to the baking tray. Add a hook on the back to hang it on the wall. All you have to do is get some magnets and use them to attach business cards, post-it notes, notes with telephone numbers, recipes and so on.

Slate

Transforming the old baking tray into a blackboard is child’s play: just clean it well, dry it and paint the bottom with blackboard paint. You can leave the external part intact or paint it with acrylics. All you have to do is add a hook on the back so you can hang it up and start using it.

Tray

Another nice idea to recycle the old baking tray is to transform it into a tray: just wash it, dry it, sand it and paint it with acrylics. You can also make drawings on the base or glue pieces of tissue paper with PVA glue, covering the entire pan with the decoupage technique.

Alternatively you could cover the pan with a nice fabric.
