In the heart of the Venice lagoona Cavallino-Treportia work has been completed that unites innovation, landscape and sustainable mobility: it is the long cagest cycle -pedestrian track in Europea path of 6.5 kilometers suspended on the waterout of a total of 8.5 km. Its name is evocative: “Via del Breath” And it represents more than an infrastructure: it is a manifesto of conscious cycle tourism.
The project requested over 20 million eurosof which 13 million allocated by the Municipality and almost 7 from the Provveditorato to Public Works. The intervention also affected the safety of the roads of via Pordelio, definitively separating vehicular traffic from the cycling one, to the advantage of the safety and comfort of cyclists.

A ride between nature, silence and reflections
Traveling the way of breath is an immersive experience: it is pedaling between Barene, herons and sparkling waterswith the feeling of floating in the landscape. The light metal of the suspended structure integrates with the lagoon environment, transforming the track into a real Belvedere in motion. It is not just a path: it is an invitation to slow down and contemplate.
The cycle path has strengthened the tourist image of Cavallino-Treporti, establishing itself as a symbol of environmental innovation and local pride. At the inauguration ceremony of 18 Julyalso participated Alessandro Ballanthe world champion of road cycling in 2008, appointed tourism ambassador from the Municipality for his contribution to the promotion of cycling.
There FIABThe Italian Federation of the Environment and Bicycle, rewarded the Municipality for the eighth consecutive year with the yellow flag and 5 bike smilethe highest national recognition for pro-bicy policies. The “via del breathing” is part of the 60 km of local cycle pathstracing a concrete road towards one Slow mobility, safe and regenerating.
