Decorating an anonymous suitcase has never been easier! Here’s how to proceed using three simple methods

If old suitcases can be recovered to furnish the home, the more recent ones, but anonymous on an aesthetic level, can be decorated with three different methods, which today we want to illustrate step by step: the first, which is also the simplest, involves the use some permanent markers, the second some acrylic paints and the third some spray cans. Which one do you prefer?

With permanent markers

The first method we suggest for renewing your suitcase involves the use of permanent markers. Their use is decidedly simpler than other types of colors because it is sufficient to trace the design directly on the surface.

You can use a single contrasting color or multiple colours depending on the subject you intend to reproduce. Before starting we recommend that you prepare a pencil sketch and reproduce it later on the clean suitcase.

With acrylic colors

The second method we suggest involves the use of acrylic colors. No experience is required but having to apply them with a brush certainly requires a little more skill. Also in this case it is necessary, indeed indispensable, prepare a preparatory draft of the design to be reproduced on the suitcase, also choosing the color palette in advance. These seem like superfluous steps but we assure you that they are essential to obtain a good result.

Before you start painting, get a palette for paints, some acrylic brushes, water to clean them and some paper towels. Do not wet the paint excessively before applying it to avoid the risk of it slipping on the surface of the suitcase. Once the first coat has been applied, let it dry and proceed with a second coat of colour. Evaluate, based on the result, whether it is appropriate to pass a third.

With spray cans

The last method we propose consists in using the water spray cans. Before you start painting the suitcase, you will need to coat the wheels and other elements, and spray it with white primer.
