There First Moon full of autumn It is about to arrive: let’s not forget to look at the sky the 6 Octoberwhen it shines – time permitting – the Hunter moon. Not to be missed!
Because the hunter’s moon
As with all full moons, also the name of that of October, Hunter mooncomes from the tradition of Native Americans: everyone was now projected towards the winter for which it was necessary to collect food stocks, in the fields it was all a huntingin a period still snowy with many animals still “available”.
But the full moon of October is not always called like this: first of all it is sometimes also called Blood Moon or Sanguine moon which still recalls hunting, but, in the years in which this is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, it is called Moon of the harvest (“Stealing” the name to that of September).
How and where to admire the gorgeous moon of the hunter
As the UAI explains, the moon will be technically full on October 7 at 4.48 Italian time, but we will admire a splendid full moon starting from the previous evening (on the map the Heaven of 6 October 2025 at about 22.30).
We therefore want to look south-east towards the constellation of fish, and we admire the show!
