Do you know who produces the lemon sorbet of Sicily “I love to be excellent” of the Eurospin?

The frozen discount shelf can hide more than a few surprises. Simple labels, competitive prices and … respectable manufacturers. This is the case of Sicily lemon sorbet “I love to be excellent” sold by Eurospin.
The package reads that it is gluten -free and part of a line dedicated to “gastronomic excellence”. But who really produces it?

Tonitto 1939: behind the “I love to be excellent” brand

Taking a look at the label, it turns out that the sorbet is produced in the Genoa plant, in via NS of Lourdes, 5

So yes, the Eurospin sorbet is produced by a brand that in other contexts we find in specialized stores or in gourmet e-commerce. Intensive confirmation of how the discount, in disguise, can often hide high -level producers.

But does something change compared to the official line?

Here too the same rule applies as always: that the manufacturer is the same does not guarantee that the product is identical. The recipes, the quality of the raw materials, the controls, may also vary significantly. The tonet sorbet sold with a brand just be exactly the same that we find with the label “I love to be excellent”. And of course, we do not have access to the technical specifications or the internal quality standards of each line.

Our advice

Yes, in discount stores you can do business, and find products of series companies. But if we really want to choose in a conscious and sustainable way, it is better to prefer craft ice creams, perhaps of small ice cream parlors that work with real fruit and natural ingredients, or – why not – prepare a good sorbet at home, with fresh lemons and few genuine ingredients. More transparency, more taste, less plastic.
