Dog Photography Awards 2024: photos dedicated to the most beautiful dogs in the world

Between the photography competitions dedicated to animals there is one that stands out for its friendliness, it is the contest founded by Audrey Bellot and Claudio Piccoli, which revolves around a single animal: the dog.

This year too, the Dog Photography Awards received thousands of nominations from all over the world and after a long and careful screening, the jury has decreed the winners of this fourth edition.

We specify that there were five categories competing, Portrait, Action, Study, Dogs & People and Documentaryand for each of them several prizes were awarded.

Let’s start with a peek in the “Portrait” category where we find, in the very first place, a shepherd “Kooki” ready to leap into the air to catch a Frisbee thrown by the owner. The image, taken near a museum, is by Rhea Nellen.

Let’s move on to the “Action” category, which saw the triumph of the elegant shot by Norwegian photographer Regine Jensen.

And for the “Dogs & People” series here is the incredible winning photograph by Jane Thomson: “The Princess & the Pea”.

The image portrays a young hospital patient together with one of the dogs enrolled in the Pet Therapy program held in the pediatric hospital where she is hospitalized. In this regard Jane declared: – Celebrating the strength of these incredibly courageous young hospital patients alongside the beautiful dogs enrolled in the program was the most enriching project I have ever worked on.. –

Finally, in the “Documentary” category, John Fabiano triumphed with a photo taken during a snowstorm in Siorapaluk, an indigenous village in Greenland, where he found himself experiencing an adrenaline-filled adventure in the middle of nature, without GPS or cell phone. The dogs were immortalized while they patiently waited for the photographer’s guide to untangle the ropes of the sleds.
