A new opportunity is about to open up to access the 2025 electric car incentive vouchers, a long-awaited window for those who, in recent weeks, have not been able to complete the procedure or now risk seeing their bonus expire. On Saturday 22 November, from 10 am, a new click day will start dedicated to the resources left unused after the first allocation.
The new Ecobonus, we remember, officially started on 22 October, allowing citizens and businesses in possession of the required requirements to book online a voucher worth 9,000 or 11,000 euros, depending on the ISEE for private individuals, or coverage of up to 30% of the price for micro-businesses. However, the simple request is not enough: the voucher must be validated by the dealerships within 30 days. A mandatory deadline which, if ignored, automatically cancels the bonus and returns the funds to the general “piggy bank” of incentives.
This is why the next few hours represent a real race against time: the vouchers issued during the first click day are about to reach their expiry date and those who have not yet combined them with an order risk losing everything.
To date, out of 55,774 vouchers issued, 45,313 have been validated, equal to 81.2% of the total. There therefore remain 10,461, i.e. 18.8%, still without validation. A part will be recovered at the last moment, as always happens, but a significant portion should return to the fund, creating a new “treasure” that will be put back into circulation on the click day of November 22nd. The final figure, however, will only be clear after the 30 days required by law have expired.
Requirements to access the 2025 electric car incentives
To obtain the bonus, private individuals must meet very precise criteria, starting from residence in functional urban areas (FUA), areas made up of a city of at least 50,000 inhabitants and its commuting area. A requirement that has generated much controversy, because it excludes almost half of the Italian population from accessing the Ecobonus.
It is also necessary to own a car for scrap up to Euro 5, while the new model to be purchased must not exceed the price of 35,000 euros plus VAT (total: 42,700 euros). The amount of the voucher then depends on the income certified via ISEE:
For micro-businesses the logic is different: the contribution covers up to 30% of the price of the vehicle (excluding VAT), with a maximum ceiling of 20,000 euros.
In summary, the next few days will be decisive both for those who still have to rush to validate the voucher already obtained, and for those hoping for the arrival of new resources. On Saturday at 10am, with click day, a new – and probably short – window will reopen to access the 2025 electric car incentives.
