There is a place, in the heart of Assisi, where time seems to slow down and people return to look in the eyes. A place where music does not invade, but caresses. Where words do not distract, but cure. Where silence has a sound and every gesture becomes prayer.
That place, for two days only, is called Evanland. And it’s not a simple festival. It is a collective experience of kindness, listening and reconnection. An invitation to leave the sound of the world behind and to enter, on tiptoe, in a different way of living. A real open -air spiritual retreat, where culture, nature, art and awareness intertwine in two days of transformative activities.
A daydream on the Rocca di Assisi
Evanland, the International Festival of the inner world was born from the heart and pen of Gio Evan, poet, artist, walker of the soul. It is his way of saying to the world that you can still live lightly, without superficiality. With depth, but without heaviness.
In the open sky of the Rocca Maggiore, between ancient stones and panoramas that remove their breath, silence are danced, hugs are intertwined, breaths are shared.
There is no hurry. There is no overload. Only the simple joy of being there.
Rites, paths and meetings that nourish the being
Evanland is not running from one stage to another. You walk, meditate, listen. In the speed and algorithm society, Evanland is an invitation to slow down. To stay. To look in the eyes without haste. The program is not made of simple events: it is an intertwining of possibilities to reconnect.
It starts at dawn, with concerts immersed in the light that climbs the Umbrian valley, and we continue between conscious walks, poetry workshops, acro-yoga between strangers who become companions of breath.
We participate in cocoa ceremonies as you enter a prayer, you listen to words of philosophers and songwriters such as Vito Mancuso or Erri De Luca, you dance in a circle, we cry and laugh. Everything happens naturally, without forcing.
For children there are wooden games, natural make-up-making, manual workshops and no screen. For adults, however, a space to return children.

A festival that respects what hosts us
In Evanland, sustainability is not a slogan hanging on a stand, but a principle that you breathe in every choice. Here each gesture is designed to leave the slightest impact and the maximum meaning. You will not find plastic, invasive advertising or pre -packaged food.
Meals are prepared with biological, local, seasonal ingredients, carefully chosen and served with simplicity. Each bite tells a story of land, hands, respect.
The materials are natural, recycled or recyclable. The children’s games are in wood, the objects for sale have the flavor of crafts, and every little detail speaks of a sober beauty, which does not need to shout.
And then there is another type of sustainability, more subtle but even deeper: that of relationships. In Evanland you learn not to waste the looks, not to consume empty words, not to disperse attention. It is a different way of being together. Slower, more true. More human.
Once to heal, together
In an era where everything is fast consumption, Evanland is a countercurrent choice. It is a kind no noise, in a hurry, to performance. And it is a powerful yes to care, beauty, being present. It is a sweet utopia that takes real shape, even for a weekend. But who is, knows: certain experiences last much more than two days.
Participating in Evanland is not simply “being there”. It is giving yourself. It is to go home with the lightest heart and the most open mind. It is to understand that another way of being in the world is possible – more respectful, more silent, but also more powerful.
It is an invitation to take care of yourself and others. It is a hymn to shared vulnerability.
And perhaps, in an increasingly divided and noisy world, it is precisely from here – from the kind souls – that it can start something true. If your heart needs a hug, maybe it’s time to go up to the fortress.
