Farewell dry skin after the holidays: 7 scrubs that really work (with ingredients you already have in the pantry)

Summer is about to end and, consequently, also the beneficial effects of the sun on the skin. But don’t worry. To maintain a soft, hydrated and luminous skin, just follow some care and some grandmother’s remedies. The best way to have a skin at the top even after the summer is to do from time to time to the scrubs for the body that help to exfoliate it and make it smooth. As? Just use simple natural ingredients that you can find in your pantry.

Salt scrub

Put the dry ingredient together, then add the avocado or oil you chose, until it forms a fairly consistent compound albeit creamy. If it is not enough, add honey (nourishing for the skin) or, if you are vegan, another oil. Finally, put a few drops of essential oil: here we have recommended vanilla, but you can choose your favorite with the care to check that they are adapted for skin use (they can be irritating). The best for the skin are pink, rosemary, lemon, mandarin, lavender and chamomile.

Coffee scrub

Put the dry ingredients together and then add the massage oil until a sufficiently dense mixture is obtained. The caffeine contained in this scrub has two very interesting functions: it moves the accumulations of cellulite favoring their dissolution and fights the formation of varicose veins (or if you already have them reduces them). As you can imagine, only one treatment will not be enough! To give a more enveloping perfume and reinvigorate the spirit, you can add a teaspoon of cinnamon satin.

Mint scrub

Mix the olive oil with the salt and add the essential oil: this to the mint has a deliciously summer perfume that will lift you from the days of the heat in August!

Cane and lemon sugar scrubs

Mix all the ingredients. You can replace the wine oil with sweet almond oil. You have no idea how much this scrub knows about holidays.

Oat Flour scrub

Get the dry ingredients in a blender and pass them until they are reduced to a coarse mixture. Pour the flour into a glass jar with a screw cap. When you need your scrub, take some of the mixture and add the liquid you prefer (water, milk or yogurt). Keep the rest of the flour in the freezer.

Honey and white sugar scrub

Mix the ingredients until a grainy and soft mixture is obtained. Perfect for those with sensitive skin, because honey soothes and moisturizes.

Banana and sugar scrub

Super nutritious, excellent for dry and chapped skin: leave the skin soft and fragrant.

The rules for a perfect scrub

Making a scrub does not only mean mixing two ingredients and passing on them in the shower. Behind there is a small ritual that can turn into a moment of well -being. The scrub, in fact, does not only serve to eliminate dead cells, but stimulates circulation, makes the skin brighter and above all prepares it to better absorb the creams and oils we put after. It is the easiest way to prolong the tan and maintain the skin soft even when the sun starts to scarce.

Many, however, are wrong approach: there are those who do it too often, risking to irritate the skin, or those who apply it “dry” without even moistening before. The scrub must be done calmly, in the shower, massaging with circular movements and without exaggerating with the pressure. One or twice a week it is more than enough. Immediately after, the skin must always be nourished with a cream or a light oil, otherwise it risks staying smooth, but also a little pulled.

Each part of the body responds differently: the elbows and knees, for example, are areas that tend to become rough and that require some more attention; The heels regenerate easily with a good salt and oil scrub; Arms and back should not be forgotten, because here the scrub also helps to reduce those annoying small dots that appear in the heat.

Of course, not all skin types have the same needs.

Those who have dry skin should focus on nutritious ingredients such as honey, avocado or banana;

Those suffering from oily skin find great benefit in fresher and purifying remedies such as lemon, mint or green tea;

Those who have sensitive skin should go on the safe side with oatmeal, yogurt or aloe vera, which exfoliate without attacking.

The scrub can also become a funny “beauty” moment to share: just prepare it at home, smell it with herbs or spices, put it in a nice jar and decorate it with a bow to transform it into an original gift. It is not only a pampering for the skin, but also a small gesture that tells care and attention. After all, autumn is the right season to take a little more time for itself and find your beauty routine, perhaps starting from a homemade, natural and personalized scrub.

The interesting part of a home scrub is that you can lead to your availability and preferences, saving a lot compared to those who are on the market, with the advantage of checking what you put in it and perhaps granting you some more luxury. For example, you can perfume the scrub with reinvigorating ginger or sprinkle it with dry rose petals without spending a fortune. Another non -irrelevant detail: you can pack it in cute containers, put a bow and make a beautiful personalized gift to your friends.
Good return from holidays!
