Rome is once again confirmed as the capital of art with an exceptional exhibition program for this March 2025. The Jubilee brings in the eternal city events of international caliber, offering visitors a journey through different eras, styles and visions. Here is an overview of the most significant exposures scheduled.
The highly anticipated exhibition on Caravaggio
The most awaited exhibition is certainly at the National Gallery of Antica Art in Palazzo Barberini who, in conjunction with the celebrations of the Jubilee 2025, hosts the Caravaggio 2025 monographic exhibition from France to 6 July by Francesca Cappelletti, Maria Cristina Terzaghi and Thomas Clement Salomon. The project, one of the most important dedicated to Michelangelo Merisi called Caravaggio (1571-1610), offers a path with an exceptional number of autograph paintings, together with works that are difficult to visible and new discoveries in one of the symbolic places of the link between the artist and his patrons. In fact, bringing together some of the most famous works, flanked by others less known but equally significant than the great master, the exhibition represents a new and in -depth reflection on the artistic and cultural revolution of Merisi, investigating in a very large context all the innovative aspects that introduced into the artistic, religious and social panorama of his time. “Picasso Lo foreigner”

From 27 February to 29 June 2025 at the Museum of the Corso di Palazzo Cipolla. A title that immediately suggests the unpublished cut of the exhibition: not the usual tribute to the revolutionary genius of the art of the twentieth century, but a journey through its identity as an immigrant, of outsider. In the face of a world -class fame, Pablo Picasso never obtained French citizenship, remaining, for the institutions, always and only “the foreigner”.
A real journey into the complex identity of one of the greatest artists ever. An experience that wisely combines aesthetic and political, passion and solitude, success and a sense of exclusion. Rome is preparing to reveal an unpublished picasso: brilliant, rebellious, restless. Always foreign, always revolutionary. Here for more information.

“Munch. The inner cry “

From 11 February to 2 June 2025, Palazzo Bonaparte hosts “Munch. The inner cry ”, an exhibition awaited for over twenty years. Show “Warhol Banksy”
From 20 December 2024 to 6 June 2025, the Wegil in Rome hosts the Warhol Banksy exhibition. The exhibition explores the link between Andy Warhol and Banksy, two revolutionary artists who have transformed the concept of art over the past 50 years. Warhol, a public figure and icon of pop art, made his works a real brand, while Banksy, keeping anonymity, has transformed street art into a global phenomenon.
Through a comparison between public image and artistic provocation, the exhibition highlights the points of contact between the two: Warhol with its commodification of art and Banksy with its social criticism, often playing precisely on the symbols created by the first. Over 100 works from private collections and international galleries will be exhibited.
Franco Fontana’s “Retrospective”

The Retrospective exhibition celebrates Franco Fontana’s career, one of the most important Italian photographers, known for his innovative color photography. Curated by Jean-Luc Monterosso, it is at the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome from 13 December 2024 to 31 August 2025, and has over 200 photographs that explore its artistic evolution through abstract landscapes, urban skylines and experiments with color and shape.
