From Milan to Catania, these are the best high schools according to the Eduscopio 2025 ranking

The Eduscopio Observatory of the Agnelli Foundation is also back for 2025, with the new edition of the rankings of the best Italian high schools. As always, high schools, technical and professional institutes are compared on the basis of what happens after graduation: university performance for those who continue their studies, entry into the job market for those who immediately aim for a job.

In Rome the “Ennio Quirino Visconti” classical high school confirms itself as the first reference, while in Milan the “Giovanni Berchet” takes first place, overtaking the equal “Sacro Cuore”. The “strongest” high school in the country, however, according to aggregate indicators, is in Veneto: the classic “Giovanni Battista Ferrari” in Este, in the province of Padua.

To arrive at these results, Eduscopio analyzed the paths of approximately 1,355,000 graduates from 8,150 schools in three school years (2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22), also including the first graduates of the four-year courses.

The university results were considered (average grades, number of exams passed) for high schools and technicians that send at least a third of graduates to university and no less than 21 students in three years and the speed and quality of entry into the world of work for graduates of technical and professional institutes who immediately seek employment.
