They have existed for over 15 years, but only recently have air fryers become one of the leading appliances. This is thanks to an “aggressive” marketing strategy, in particular some brands that have invaded television, social media and web platforms, transforming what was a niche product into a must-have for modern kitchens.
But beyond the media hype, do these devices really keep their promises? Que Choisira French consumer association, wanted to see clearly by testing 53 models from brands such as Philips, Ninja, Moulinex, Braun, Cosori and Silvercrest (Lidl), with prices ranging from 29 to 300 euros.

As clearly emerges from the ranking, Philips confirms itself as the leader in the sector with 7 models in the top 10. However, there is no shortage of interesting alternatives such as the Moulinex, Braun and Ninja Dual Zone models, which offer specific features such as the double drawer for cooking two dishes at the same time. The Silvercrest (Lidl) SHF 1800 B1 9 in 1 model ends up in 37th position, with a score of 12.1.
Before purchasing an air fryer, evaluate your real needs: required capacity, available space in the kitchen, desired functions and, of course, budget.
