If you have spent hours to build with the Lego, today you could do the same … but with yours future house. And no, it’s not a joke. In Belgium, the company Gablok has developed a system of prefabricated wooden blocks which assemble themselves just like the famous bricks, but with an infinitely less environmental impact compared to traditional construction.
The heart of the idea is as simple as it is brilliant: light blocks, insulators and resistantwho fit together without mortar, cement or technical skills. No need for bricklayers or machinery. Just a scale, a screwdriver and desire to get involved.

Everything was born in 2018 from an intuition of Gabriel Lakatosprofessional with over 25 years of experience in classical construction. After years between construction sites and heavy materials, he decided to change everything: he patented a modular system that was cleaner, lighter and more accessible. And he succeeded.
With eight basic blocks And some junction element, it is possible to build the main walls of a house in only seven daysas already happened in real projects in Belgium. A real sustainable alternative to the classic masonry, which reduces not only i construction timesbut also the consumption of high carbon -imprint materials such as cement and steel.

How it works
The process is surprisingly simple. After receiving the Drawings of the architectthe Gablok team adapts the project to the size of the blocks and realizes one 3D draftso that the customer can see (and approve) the final result even before starting to build.
After about four weeks, the Complete kit for self -construction: includes all blocks, assembly plans and detailed instructions. The only thing that is not included? The foundation and the roof coverage. Everything else, including the floors and beams, arrives in three phases, to avoid chaos on site and facilitate the management of materials.
Each block weighs less than 9 kg, which means Maximum handling and safety on site. No heavy lifting, no useless risk. Also perfect for those who have no experience in the sector.
