The complex intervention carried out in the countryside in the province of Foggia could only have a happy ending, thanks to which a very young dog is now safe. The animal, a puppy, had ended up in a tank collecting water for irrigation.
He would never have gotten out of there alive if not with outside help. The fire brigade was providential as always and was activated following the report of some passers-by. It was the dog’s cries that attracted attention of some people so as to raise the alarm.
A team of firefighters, accompanied by the veterinary service of the ASL of Foggia area A, reached the indicated point and rescued the puppy. A firefighter lowered himself into the reservoir with a rope, managing to grab the dog and climb back up with him.
Needless to say, how scared the puppy was. Who wouldn’t be after falling into a trap with no way to escape. A bad experience which, fortunately, can be said to be over.
Outside the large tank, the four-legged friend was subjected to an initial check by the ASL vets. The veterinary service entrusted the dog to the National Animal Protection Agency (ENPA).
The association welcomed him into the shelter, offering him care and a safe place to rest. The little one was named Grisù “in honor of his courage and his fight to survive” say the volunteers of the San Severo section.
Grisù’s story is unknown, but this lucky dog got a second chance at life. ENPA hopes to find him a family as soon as circumstances allow.
(Grisù) needs to recover and calm down after the terrible experience, but we hope soon to be able to change his destiny with a beautiful adoption” continue the volunteers.
Adoption would be the perfect conclusion after a rescue made equally perfect by the professionalism and courage of the firefighters, guardian angels of people and animals. Thanks to their interventions, horses, cats, wild animals and any species have been rescued, adopted or released into the wild
