Hear this orchestra bring to life the music of 300 years ago with period instruments

Harmonious Ensemble is a specialized musical group of excellence born in Asti in 2012 in the rediscovery and performance of Late Baroque music. Founded by Marco Demaria, Francesco and Stefano Cerrato, Daniele Ferretti and Michele Barchi, the ensemble is dedicated to playing with original instruments or faithful copies of those of the eighteenth century, faithfully following the executive practices of the time.

The origin of the name “Armoniosa” is closely linked to the Asti area: during some research in the Archives of the Cathedral of Asti, the members of the group discovered a folder with the heading “Harmoniosa”. Fascinated by the term, they decided to adopt it, modifying it slightly to make it their own.

The project had a casual start, with the first concert in January 2012, performed with music found in the Cathedral Archives. From that moment the ensemble began a journey of in-depth study and study of ancient instruments, establishing itself as a unique reality in the Italian musical panorama.

Reviving the beauty of ancient music

Armoniosa Ensemble stands out for the rigor with which it approaches the study of the repertoire and instruments. Thanks to this dedication, he had the opportunity to collaborate with great masters of baroque music, such as Trevor Pinnock, and to perform in the most prestigious international festivals. The main destinations of their tours include Germany, Austria, Poland, Switzerland and Denmark, with concerts that saw them as protagonists in famous halls such as the Konzerthaus in Berlin.

Despite its success abroad, Armoniosa continues to maintain a strong link with the Asti area, although local collaborations are less frequent. In Italy the ensemble collaborates with the Pietà dei Turchini of Naplesone of the first conservatories in the world, helping to promote ancient music also at a national level.

Since 2015, Armoniosa has undertaken an intense recording activity, culminating in 2019 with the creation of your own labelRedDress. Their work has received recognition from international critics, confirming the value of their unique approach to baroque music.
