We have already seen how to give new life to the old wooden shutters, but what about the shutters? Even these objects, when they are damaged and destined for the landfill, can turn into surprising and original creations. Here are some DIY ideas from which to draw inspiration to reuse them.
Decorative picture
Certainly the idea of transforming the old roller shutters into a decorative picture for the walls of the house will never have passed through your head. Instead, yes, with a pinch of ingenuity you can do: just disassemble them, capture them and then assemble the selected pieces again to form a collage, ready to be painted. The pieces can be cut and fixed on a rigid support, for example a wooden table.
Armchair
An original idea is to transform an old plastic shutter into a coating for an armchair. After having cleaned it and slightly taper to create socket, paint it, let it dry and adapt it to the size of the back and armrests, fixing it firmly with resistant glue or screws suitable for plastic.
Vertical planter
Old roller shutters can find a second life as a plants support. To make it, you must fix them in a vertical position on the wall, ensuring them firmly with resistant screws or brackets. Once the structure is made stable, it is possible to attach or place the pots between the sticks, creating an original decorative effect.
Headboard of the bed
The shutters can even be transformed into a headboard for the bed: just fix them firmly to the wall, after having painted them in the desired color to adapt them to the style of the room. If you are familiar with the drawing, you can also enrich them with personalized decorations, making the headboard even more unique and original.
