There is a common mistake in the preparation of the hamburger that can compromise food safety. The agronomist Daniele Paci explains everything in a video
When it comes to cooking a hamburger, there are many small details that make the difference in the final result. Yet, one of the most common doubts concerns a question that will seem to be shocked to many: Can the hamburger be cooked with the plastic film that envelops it?
At first glance, the doubt might seem absurd. Who could ever think of cooking the meat with a plastic film? Yet the confusion arises from the fact that, in some cases, the plastic that surrounds the hamburger does not seem to be the classic rigid plastic, but a thin and flexible film, which could suggest a heat -resistant material.
This error of interpretation was recently highlighted byAgronomo Daniele PaciThat He answered the initial question in a video published on Instagram.
Plastic found on the hamburgers is not suitable for cooking
As the expert explains, the plastic found on the hamburgers has been designed exclusively for conservation and packaging purposes, not to resist the heat of cooking.
Paci, in his video, clearly explained that the plasticized film that envelops the hamburger serves to separate the individual pieces of meat during transport and conservation, not to protect them during cooking.
If exposed to high temperatures, plastic can begin to give in chemicals that they should not get in touch with our food as we then risk ingesting them.
In addition to this, if left on the meat while cooking, the film can even stick to the hamburger and this exposes us to an even greater intake of toxic substances.
Another very important indication for those who eat hamburger is to always cook the meat well, we have explained the reasons in a previous article: if you really have to eat the hamburger, eat it at least well cooked
