In this university you can now enroll in the Degree Course on Metal Music

The Summa College University of Eindhoven has recently launched a new one Faculty called “The Metal Factory”dedicated to Heavy Metal fans. This university course offers students the opportunity to study their favorite musical genre at academic level. Among the activities of the course, students learn to master the art of “growling” in singing lessons, as well as Play tools like guitar, bass, battery and keyboard For the metal audience.

According to teachers, the key to an effective Heavy Metal growth is simple: you start with a sigh or a moan and the vocal cords are used for gradually transform it into a primordial scream. The curriculum of The Metal Factory is designed to train students to become independent artists and entrepreneurs in the music industry.

What to do after graduation

Career opportunities after completing the degree include composition, production, teaching and coaching. Some former pupils have also continued their studies in copyright, management, music therapy or speech therapy.

The Tutors of The Metal Factory are all active in the music industryboth on stage and behind the scenes, and many of them have traveled the world, sharing realistic experiences and knowledge with the students. The faculty tries to maintain the training updated and relevant to the current sector, reflecting this philosophy in teaching staff.

Many universities dealing with music

In 2023, in fact, the University of Arizona introduced a course dedicated to Taylor Swiftentitled “Psychology of Taylor Swift – Advanced topics of social psychology”. This course explores what psychologists can learn from the musician’s career, using Taylor Swift as a semi -annual example of different phenomena such as gossip, relationships and revenge. Students connect the themes of the various Swift albums to psychology, with particular attention to the 2017 album “Reputation”.

Other universities have offered courses dedicated to famous musical artists. Stanford University has analyzed SWIFT’s “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) and offered an online course on the music and culture of the Grateful Dead. The University of Yale presented a Course on Beyoncéexamining his work as a lens to study history, intellectual thought and the performance of blacks. The Concordia University of Montreal instead offered a course on Kanye Westexploring his career and his impact on music.
