Easter is coming and with it the inevitable ritual of going to the supermarket in search of the right chocolate egg to give to the children. But this year, before putting something in the cart, we decided to stop for a moment in front of the shelves and do the math.
Kinder Easter eggs are among the best-selling and, naturally, the most loved by Italian children, not only for the chocolate but also for the surprises. They are also those which, perhaps more than others, bring into play a delicate balance between desire and wallet: denying them to children, grandchildren or the little ones in the family is never easy. Those who produce them know this well, and prices, year after year, seem to take this into account.
But how much have they increased in 2026?
Kinder prices 2024
Two years ago, the 220 gram Kinder Gransorpresa Maxi had a recommended price of 14.99 euros. Even then it wasn’t much for a chocolate egg. The smallest format, 150 grams, cost 9.90 euros, while the Gransorpresa Gigante stood at 19.90 euros.
Figures that many parents remember well, because even back then they raised eyebrows a bit. Yet, looking at what we find on the shelves today, those prices seem distant.
Kinder 2026: the prices we found at the supermarket
We went to check for ourselves in a supermarket in Rome. The 150 gram Gransorpresa – the smallest format – currently costs 13.99 euros. In 2024 it cost 9.90, which means an increase of over 41% in just two years.
The 220 gram Gransorpresa Maxi went from 14.99 to 16.99 euros, with an increase of 2 euros flat.
The Giant format, which in 2024 was priced at 19.90 euros, today reaches 21.99.
In all three cases, prices have risen. No format has remained stable compared to last year (Easter 2025), when the recommended prices were 12.99 euros for the 150 gram format, 15.99 euros for the 220 gram Maxi and 19.99 euros for the 320 gram Gigante.
It must be said that prices can vary from supermarket to supermarket and from e-commerce to e-commerce. But it will be really difficult to find them at a lower price than this.
