The plot: chases, family and second chances
What seems like a simple investigation soon turns into a race against time. Simone is forced to escape together with his ex-wife Alessia and his daughter Giada, while the criminals chase him along the coast. The escape also becomes an internal journey, in which the man tries to recover his relationship with his family and demonstrate that he can change.
In the meantime, Stella finds herself working side by side with Valerio, an Internal Affairs manager who openly hinders her, driven by a hatred rooted in the past. The investigation reopens deep wounds and forces the policewoman to confront her own pain as she tries to save Simone and stop those who want him dead. The story thus moves between action, tension and feelings, focusing on the possibility of getting up after a fall.
The cast of the series
The cast brings together much-loved faces from Italian fiction. Miriam Dalmazio plays Stella, an instinctive and combative policewoman. Filippo Scicchitano is Simone, a fragile man but ready to risk everything for his family. Francesco Arca plays the role of Valerio, a complex figure marked by pain and a difficult past. Alongside them are Laura Cravedi in the role of Alessia, Simone’s ex-wife, and Claudio Corinaldesi, together with a large ensemble that enriches the narrative. The direction is by Luca Brignone, while the series is a Rai Fiction and Paypermoon co-production, conceived as a story in three evenings full of tension and twists.
The locations between Rome and Calabria
One of the most evocative elements of The lucky star they are the settings. The story moves between Rome and Calabria, transforming the landscape into an integral part of the story. Filming took place in Crotone, Isola Capo Rizzuto, Cutro, Botricello and Lamezia Terme, with coastal scenery accompanying the escape of the protagonists.
The geographical journey also becomes a metaphor for the search for salvation: long roads, open landscapes and suspended places reflect the emotional instability of the characters. The camper in which the family travels becomes a symbol of precariousness and hope, while each stage adds tension and new obstacles.
A story of rebirth
The lucky star focuses on imperfect characters, marked by mistakes and pain, but determined to change. Simone and Stella represent two different falls that meet, two lives that try to climb back up. Between chases, secrets and complex relationships, the series tells the story of the moment when everything seems lost and the only way is to start again.
