Let’s not make any commitments for the next few evenings, some are coming shooting stars less known but beautiful all the same: they are the epsilon Geminidsa “taste” of the wonderful Geminids of December. We prepare many desires because the October 18th the maximum is expected. We don’t miss out!
The epsilon Geminidslike the more famous December Geminids, seem to originate from constellation Gemini from which they take their name (in other words their radiant is found there), and they are meteors active approximately from 14 to 27 Octoberhave a ZHR of around 3, which means that it is possible to observe 3 meteors every hour, and are very fast, with a speed of around 70 km/s, one of the highest among the showers active in the month.

Unfortunately, however, the maximum practically coincides with the first quarter of the Moon, which could therefore bring some disturbance in the evening hours, but observability conditions will improve in the second part of the night after the sunset of our satellite (on the map the sky of October 19th at approximately 1.00 am).
