The Ministry of Health has issued a new food recall concerning a batch of local salami with garlic sold under the “La Salumeria di Eustacchio” brand. The notice, published on the portal dedicated to food alerts, signals a possible microbiological risk due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes.
Full details of the recalled product
The salami involved is sold in pre-packaged pieces of 450 grams, produced in the factory of the company La Salumeria di Eustacchio SRL, located in Casier, in the province of Treviso.
The affected lot is number 016877, with an expiry date or minimum shelf life of 28 June 2026.
According to the Ministry’s official notice dated January 23, 2026, the recall was ordered as a precaution by the manufacturer itself. The decision came after internal quality control tests detected the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause listeriosis, a rare but potentially serious disease characterized by fever, muscle pain, nausea and, in the most serious cases, neurological complications. This bacterium is especially dangerous for children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.
The batch has already been withdrawn from the shelves, but the Ministry underlines the importance of paying attention also to those who have already purchased the product.
What to do if you have the recalled salami at home
For consumers who have salami from the indicated batch at home, the indication is clear: do not consume the product but return it as soon as possible to the point of sale where it was purchased to obtain a refund.
