Carrefour has announced an important precaution that involves involving 30 Prop own brand pasta formats. The communication, released yesterday, concerns exclusively the “Carrefour Classic” line.
The reason for the withdrawal is the non -indication on the label of a mandatory wording by law: the warning “It can contain traces of mustard“, An allergen among the 14 considered at risk according to European legislation.
The call was arranged as a precaution, to protect the health of allergic consumers. This is not a confirmed contamination, but the possibility that, during the production phase, there was an accidental contact with mustard residues. For non -allergic consumers, the products still remain safe and consumable.

The products withdrawn are packs of 500 grams and 1 kg, both of semolina and full semolina pasta, all with a minimum storage term until March 5, 2027. They were made by the historic Ghigi 1870 spa pasta factory, based in San Clemente (Rimini). Here is the complete list of products called:

The incident once again underlines the importance of the clear and complete labeling, in particular when it comes to allergens. According to EU Regulation 1169/2011, each operator of the food sector has the obligation to report on the label the possible presence of potentially allergenic substances, even if only in traces.
