Milan Cortina Olympics, Federica Brignone extraordinary, is also a gold medal in the giant slalom

10 months after a terrible injury, she returns to the track and writes history again: Federica Brignone is also a gold medal in the giant slalom at the Milan Cortina Olympics (after the one in the Super-G). We really have no more words for this immense champion.

Ten months ago, our skier was confined to bed, after a very serious injury in Val di Fassa, and it wasn’t even sure she could participate in these Winter Olympics. And instead, not only did she return, but she won two medals three days apart. An exceptional recovery, and a result that puts her in the Olympus of all time.

Among other things, 28 years have passed since the last gold medal in this specialty, when the legend Deborah Compagnoni I won it at the Winter Olympics in Nagano. But Federica did something more, because no Italian had ever won two five-hoop titles in the same edition of the Winter Games.

And with this medal, Italy equals the record of the Winter Olympic Games which was “still” 32 years ago, Lillehammer 1994.

I swear I’m speechless, I can’t understand anything

says the skier

We too really have no words left for this extraordinary and immense champion.

And not even her own opponents, who with true Olympic spirit, bowed to her.
