Mom runs down 100 meters on the Lego in 24.75 seconds: it is record!

In New Zealand, Gabrielle Wall has decided to transform the nightmare of each parent into a Guinness World Records company: running for 100 meters barefoot on an expanse of Lego bricks. The challenge took place in Christchurch and ended in 24.75 seconds, between pain, applause and a lot of courage.

The woman said that the experience was similar to a “Strong gone massage“: A sensation of continuous pressure, cut by peaks of pain when the foot met the sharpest edges. Yet, with great determination, he completed the test.

Preparation and training out of the ordinary

Behind this result there is not only madness, but also a targeted training. Gabrielle spent months walking barefoot on every occasion, from less formal work meetings to family weddings, to get their feet to resist.

In the garage of the house he had even set up an inflatable swimming pool full of Lego, where he simulated real “stomping” sessions as if he were pressing grapes. During the official test, security was however a priority: the volunteers eliminated too dangerous pieces, such as the Lego Palma leaves, notoriously deadly for anyone who tramples them.

A family challenge

The company was not only personal, but also familiar. His two children, 11 and 13 years old, followed the adventure closely: one like coach and the other as a manager. The mother has conquered the primacy, but the son has already announced that, just turned 18, he will try to snatch the record.

The idea of the challenge was born after a personal reflection of Gabrielle, who in the past had faced a serious fright to health. From there the decision: add something unique to its bucket list and share the project with the children.

Lego: from game to record tool

The race was also made possible thanks to the collaboration with Imagination Station, a New Zealand charity that uses Lego for educational projects. For the occasion, an entire van loaded with bricks was necessary, then distributed along the track with the help of a blower.

Despite the fatigue and the battered feet, Gabrielle has shown that even the pain more feared by parents can turn into a world record. After all, as she herself said, every mom and dad walking through a Lego brick would deserve a medal.
