Yet another accident in Trentinowhere a bear cub was hit by a car along the western Gardesana. This was communicated by the Autonomous Province of Trento, which released the details of the episode that occurred this morning.
Around 6.45 in the morning, one female brown bear with three cubs in tow suddenly crossed a road in Vezzano, in the municipality of Vallelaghi, in the Vecchio Mulino area. A driver hit one of the little ones, reporting the incident.
According to the statements of those who were driving, the very young specimen would have been reunited with his family by moving away into the vegetation. The emergency and garrison teams have reached the indicated point to search the area with the support of the dog team.
As for the driver of the vehicle, the person followed the instructions of the Trentino Forestry Corps without getting out of the car. The units secured the surrounding area. Thus ends the press release released by the Province.
It is not known whether he suffered injuries as a result of the collision or otherwise, but apparently not. Even the identity of the adult specimen appears, so far, unknown.
Unfortunately it is a script we have already seen, which highlights theurgency of wildlife corridors and other measures to ensure public and wildlife safety. Also in Vezzano, last September, another bear was hit.
As animal rights defenders report, this is the fate of bears in Trentino. Disturbed in the house where they were reintroduced, sentenced to death because they were considered dangerous, killed due to unnatural causes or victims of collisions.
