The anti -wrinkle creams promise us real miracles: redensified skin, sanded wrinkles, firmed contours, etc. .. but how true in these promises there is? The new test of Altroconsumo Out of 10 products with very different price ranges, it shows a reality that is not exactly the one they tell us.
To really understand how effective these products are, the well -known consumer magazine has selected 10 well -known creams, purchased between pharmacies, supermarkets and perfumeries. Each cream has been tested both in the laboratory and through the direct experience of consumers, also evaluating environmental impact and labels.
Each product was applied 30 volunteers morning and evening for 28 days, limited to half the face. On the other half a simple reference moisturizing cream was used. The periorbital area, that of the “chicken legs”, was analyzed before and after the test month with the first 3D Lite system, which also detects the minimum skin changes through three -dimensional photographs. The beams of light projected on the face are captured by a camera and transformed into 3D images, allowing to calculate the depth of wrinkles.
What the test discovered
None of the tested creams visibly reduces wrinkles, but many get excellent results on the hydration of the skin, a key element to keep it elastic and prevent new signs of the time.
The test has in fact confirmed that anti -wrinkle creams act only on the surface layers of the skin. None of the ten tested creams was in fact able to plump, redeem or delete wrinkles in a visible way, contrary to the promises of the labels: “gorgeous”, “Ringing“,”firming“Or“Rughe reduced after 7 days“.
The average reduction of wrinkles varies between 15%and 20%, with the best cream that reaches 20.5%. Unfortunately, these values are not clinically relevant. Translated in poor words: in the mirror there is no difference.
But even if they do not erase the signs of the time already present, the anti -wrinkle creams remain useful: they hydrate the skin, keep it soft and elastic and contribute over time to reduce the appearance of new intestitism. Their real effect is to prevent the appearance of new wrinkles, rather than eliminating those already formed.
The test also confirms that these creams are good for both men and women. Although some lines are sold with packaging or fragrances designed for a male audience, the substance does not change.
The ranking of anti -wrinkle creams
Following the ranking of anti -wrinkle creams. As always Altroconsumo Report both the best test of the test and the best purchase, or the one that offers the best quality-price ratio:
Filorga Time-Filler, the best test of the test, and Nivea Q10, the best purchase, show that the price is not a reliable indicator of effectiveness: the first is expensive and sold in the pharmacy, the second cheap and available in the supermarket.
How the test was conducted
Each cream has been tested both in the laboratory and with the direct experience of consumers, also considering the environmental impact and clarity of the labels. The tests were conducted between February and June 2025.
For each cream, the final judgment was determined by evaluating the following parameters:
The overall score of each cream has been calculated giving greater weight to the laboratory tests (65%), followed by proof of use (15%), labels analysis (10%) and environmental impact of the packaging (10%).
