The evening of February 25th An extraordinary “celestial tris” awaits us: it is the Mercurio conjunction – Saturn – Venuswhich, time permitting, will also be visible to the naked eye (even if, as we always say, for Saturn it is better to have at least a good binoculars). And it does not end here, because after a few hours they will also be pending Two shamans of falling starswe also prepare many desires!
The “celestial tris”
As the UAI explains (and as we have said several times), for several weeks we have been talking about “planetary alignments”, but in reality the stars, although wonderful, are distributed on a large section of the zodiac band, therefore in positions that even remotely form a virtual line.
But on the evening of February 25 we will attend a truly beautiful show with the Conjunction between Mercury and Saturnin the constellation of the aquarium, dominated by Venusin fish. The first two planets will be quite low on the horizon but, in favorable weather conditions, we will have no difficulty identifying them (on the map the Heaven of 25 February 2025 at about 18.30).
The falling stars
And it does not end here, because after a few hours, two swarms of falling stars, the Delta and the Sigma Leonidi, the first the night between 23 and 24 February, the second ones, between 24 and the 24th and 24th 25.
Both the radiant of the Delta Leonidi and that of the Sigma, or the point from which it seems that the meteors start, will be visible all night, the first culminating after midnight at about 65 °, the second around 1.00 to about 60 °.
But above all, both swarms, as well as the celestial trio, will be particularly in favor of observationgiven that our satellite will be in the phase of new just a few days later, on February 28th.
We do not miss, and we prepare many desires!
