Not just social media, now Elon Musk also wants to “take over” streaming with his X TV

Elon Muskthe CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, not only aims to monopolize social media by using his X platform as a tool to spread political opinions and amplify his personal influence

In fact, he also introduced XTVone streaming platform which aims to compete with giants such as Netflix and Disney+. Currently launching in the United States, X TV offers exclusive content related to its companies and programs like those of far-right journalist Tucker Carlson.

Carlson has received widespread support from Elon Musk’s base, but has also raised concerns among his own conspiracy contentwhich led X TV to become a point of reference for a certain political ideology.

Added to this is the fact that the app has received criticism for the low quality of videos often limited to a maximum resolution of 720p. Users have also noted that the quality of the user interface is lower than expected, with underdeveloped features compared to other, more established streaming apps.

There is not enough content moderation

Then you can’t forget it lack of adequate moderationwith inappropriate content that is often recommended to users. The platform, in practice, does nothing more than highlight content related to your interests and companies.

X TV does indeed offer a wide range of content, but most of it is videos related to Tesla, SpaceX and other Musk-related projects. The main attraction of X TV is its free pattern and like YouTube, it is based on a business model supported by advertisingfeaturing a variety of user-uploaded videos and exclusive content.

It is designed to be accessible to anyone have a compatible device, such as a TV with Android TV or Google TV operating system. For users who do not have compatible smart TVs, there is the possibility of using devices such as Google Chromecast or Amazon Fire TV to access the platform.

Despite the initial disappointment, Musk stated that the platform is still in development and that plans to improve it in the coming monthswith the aim of expanding its reach globally. In the future, X TV could evolve into one of the main streaming platforms, but at the moment it is still far from offering a truly competitive proposition compared to the big names in the sector.
