Recalled Granoro tomato puree: may contain fragments of glass, the batch should not be consumed

A new food alert concerns a product that is always present in our pantries: tomato puree. More specifically, the precautionary recall notice, issued by Conad, relates to a batch of Puglia tomato puree under the Granoro Dedicato brand, reported for the possible presence of glass foreign bodies inside the product.

The recall concerns the Granoro Dedicato Puglia Tomato Puree sold in 500 gram bottles, belonging to the HP1LM283 lot, with a minimum shelf life (TMC) of 31 December 2026. The product was created by Gruppo Alimentare Castellano SpA on behalf of Pastificio Attilio Mastromauro – Granoro Srl.

According to what is indicated in the official notice, the report was made as a completely precautionary measure due to the risk linked to the possible presence of glass fragments, a danger that could cause damage to the health of consumers if the product were ingested.

The Passata production plant is located in SS 16, Km. 703 + 900, in Cerignola, in the province of Foggia. The code “HP1” reported in the batch number identifies the production site involved.

What to do if you have the passage of the reported lot at home

As a precaution, consumers are advised not to use the purée belonging to the indicated batch and to return the product to the point of sale where it was purchased, even in the absence of the receipt. Supermarkets will provide a refund or replacement.
