Stop the wild hunting: collected 50 thousand signatures against the “shooter” bill (and you can still join for a few days)

Despired only last June in the Court of Cassation in Rome, the proposal for a popular initiative law to obtain the abolition of hunting, the strengthening of the protection of wolves and bears and the increase in the areas intended for park has exceeded the threshold of the 50,000 signatures necessary to be able to deposit it in Parliament.

The next step will now be the filing of the bill at the Senate.

The law of popular initiative – wanted by Italian animal rights activists, Enpa, Lac, LAV, LNDC Animal Protection and OIPA – must essentially be examined by the same commissions gathered as the Senate, Environment and Agriculture that in recent weeks have questioned the “shooter” bill wanted by the majority, which has the aim of demolishing the protections of wild animals, granting even more spaces to the hunters and more animals to kill. Eliminate the maximum time limit to the hunting season and reduce protected areas.

During the hearings at the Commissions – the animalists denounce – only four environmental associations were heard while eight associations of hunters listened to were, thus highlighting the strong imbalance in favor of the hunting world, in sensational disaster to the vast majority of citizens who have always declared itself contrary to hunting and that the Eurispes surveys attest to 76% of the Italian population.

In the meantime, the 5 Star Movement has filed over 1,000 amendments, followed by AVS Alleanza Verdi and Left with more than 500 amendments and the Democratic Party with more than 300, with the aim of trying to block what is in all respects is an attempt to “hunting” never recorded before.

We have already asked a meeting to the President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa, to deliver the signatures collected in support of our bill for the abolition of hunting in his hands – the associations continue – we want to bring the request of 76% of Italians within the rooms of political power where in recent weeks the majority parties are deciding a scandalous and violent attack on wild animals.

The signature collection will continue until the beginning of September, in order to give as many people as possible the possibility of feeling participate in this ambitious project that finally wants to silence the rifles of that narrow minority of citizens with the hunting license in his pocket represents 0.7% of Italians.
